This fully operational BK-117 Kawasaki helicopter with single-pilot instrument flight capability is manned by a team of Intensive Care Paramedics, Pilots and Crewmen. It provides a 24/7 emergency service to the people of New Zealand, responding to roadside and off road incidents, bush and mountain S&R missions, marine mayday calls, hospital to hospital transfers and remote medical & accident emergencies. Last year it attended 476 missions.
