Another cool optic by Vortex. This time I made StrikeFire 2 Red dot with 30mm tube design ideal of AR platform. Optic dont have magnification, but still its perfect chose for quick target acquisition. Model is Game ready. Low poly. One mine material with 4k texture and one for lense and dot. A personal project about learning Houdini and procedural modeling.
Back when I first started learning hard surface modeling, I remember struggling when making Picatinny rails haha.
Now I am back for redemption and can generate any Picatinny rail I want, both a high poly and low poly! Slap a smart material on it in substance and this is the result!
These 5 were made using the tool but many more variations are possible.

Magic gyroscope with celtic inspiration. Made and animated in 3DsMax with textures made in Substance.
The FBX comes with a seamless loop of the bronze ring and the little obsidian sphere both rotating around the big one which is rotating too. I named this object a magic gyroscope as the overall artefact reminds the design of those objects yet the movements are made to remind those of stars and planets.
Both spheres are pierced on top and bottom so the model only uses 4 sides polygons.
I think the object would fit nicely into a fantastic story, as lore or decoration.
