  Spear Designs 3D Model 2026-06-28
After modelling an environment for my last project, I decided to focus on props this time. I pushed my modelling skills by attempting different spear designs, incorporating shapes that went beyond the typical box-shape. Spear B (middle) was especially challenging given its organic nature, so it was an opportunity to practice sculpting in ZBrush. I established themes for each spear to ensure each deisgn was unique: Spear A (left) - Science Fantasy (inspired by the Prime weapons of Warframe) Spear B (middle) - Primitive Spear C (right) - Magic Tri Count: Spear A - 986 Spear B - 1072 Spear C - 1498 Modelled in Maya Sculpted in ZBrush (only Spear B) Textured in Substance Painter

A crystal-powered floating castle. There be demons inside. Pink demons. I was aiming for a Warcraft look (as in Frozen Throne, not necessarily WoW) with limited resolution hand painted textures. Glow FX were originally done as billboard planes, flickering was achieved by randomly rescaling them; the little bat and moving candle flames were animated by shifting UV - as these techniques are currently unavailable on Sketchfab I edited them out and left a static model with no billboard tracking. As a countermeasure, to make it look better when rotated, I added a tiny tad of postprocessed bloom. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 2694 polygons.

I made these for February’s first weekly challenge, my ideas for them were: Growth Potion, Liquified Dragon’s Breath and Bottled Moonlight. I had a lot of fun creating the glass material and sculpting the dragon’s head. I look forward to the future challenges! 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 9093 polygons.
