Anyway, it was super fun bringing Miski’s (@miskiart) concept into the 3D sphere (pun intended) just becuase I always enjoy the challenge of using outlines and bright colors. This piece, however, is a bit out of my usual format since the textures are just base colors with little to no hand-painterly work. It was still fun being able to try and translate such a flat image to 3D! My entry for the February Challenge of Frontiers. Here we have a cowboy on his way to discover what lays beyond what his eyes can see in the desert.
I wanted to take a lower poly and stylized approach to this model, and make it look like a drawing rather than a 3D model. I modeled this in Maya, and with the exception of a few meshes I threw into Substance Painter for opacity, assigned lambert materials for most of the colors 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 240570 polygons.
